King Soba - Organic Pumpkin Ginger and Rice noodles. Wheat, vegan & gluten free!

The origin of noodles has been disputed. Claims have been made that the noodle was of Chinese, Arabian and Mediterranean origin. A Nature article claimed the oldest evidence of noodle consumption was from 4,000 years ago in China. Noodles are generally considered one of the most nourishing ‘fast foods’ on earth. The classic noodles are being made from rice and wheat. But why not making noodles out of some healthy veggies such as pumpkin, broccoli, carrot or sweet potato and mix them with rice or buckwheat?

King Soba Organic Pumpkin & Ginger rice noodles

King Soba has blended pumpkin with zingy ginger and wholesome brown rice for noodles that taste delicious, and are good for you too!

Pumpkin is a great source of antioxidants, fiber and vitamin A. A cup of cooked, mashed pumpkin contains more than 200 percent of your recommended daily intake of vitamin A, which aids vision, particularly in dim light, according to the National Institutes of Health. Pumpkin is also rich in carotenoids, the compounds that give the gourd its bright orange color, including beta-carotene.

These pumpkin noodles will make a perfect post-workout dish for you. You know about the most famous nature’s energy bar? - It is banana! But not many of us know that a cup of cooked pumpkin has more of the refueling nutrient potassium, with 564 milligrams to a banana’s 422. A little extra potassium helps restore the body’s balance of electrolytes after a heavy workout and keeps muscles functioning at their best.

King Soba Organic Pumpkin & Ginger rice noodles

Ginger is among the healthiest exotic spices on the planet. It is loaded with nutrients and bioactive compounds that have powerful benefits for your body and soul.

King Soba Organic Pumpkin & Ginger rice noodles

King Soba Organic Pumpkin, Ginger & Rice Noodles are naturally organic, vegan, wheat- and gluten free, kosher and suitable for celiacs. And you can eat them on so many ways: cooked, hot, chilled, baked, fried and as a noodle soup. You can cook them in a delicious Asian stir-fry or toss into a refreshing salad with basilika, tofu and fresh cherry tomatoes!

Rude Health Buckwheat & Chia Crackers Are Storming the Naturalbox Office

Rude Health Buckwheat & Chia Crackers
While many people think that buckwheat is a cereal grain, it is actually a fruit seed and its seeds are called “groats”. It is often called a pseudo-grain. Despite the name, buckwheat is not related to wheat, becasue it is not a grass. It is related to rhubarb, sorrel and knotweed and is a great substitute for grains for people who are sensitive to wheat or other grains that contain protein glutens. Other examples of pseudocereals you use in your kitchen on daily basis are quinoa and amaranth. I love them all especially red quinoa and now our new dainty is - buckwheat.
Rude Health Buckwheat & Chia Crackers | Easter Naturalbox
Many of you love buckwheat beacause of the variations you may use it in the kitchen. Raw - for breakfast - as a yoghurt or smoothie topping, delicately cooked as an addition to your sallad or fish - for lunch or dinner. Rude Health uses buckwheat to make their organic vegan crackers becasue its dark texture that works precisely perfectly as a light puffed cracker. Chia seeds takes the 4% of the crackers - they are famous for the source of Omega 3, protein, fiber and minerals. The crackers are quite thin which makes consuming a delightful and pleasant treat. Their taste has a marked explicit punch, so you can top them with something delicate like cottage cheese, snack with yogurt, kefir or on the other hand - something strong-tasting. We love to snack Rude Health crackers with a miso soup or lentils soup with chili and turmeric, or eat like a sandwich with Philadelfia cheese and some fermented foods, such as dill pickles, sauerkraut with avocado and cayenne pepper.

Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins by Alicja

Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

I was always hungry for chocolate banana muffins but never managed to bake them perfectly. This time the result has exceeded my highest expectations and therefore, I would love to show my brand new homemade muffins to the world and share the recipe with you.

3 ripe bananas

1 tbs raw cocoa powder (Ecoandino)

70 g dark 74% cacao chocolate

160 g plain flour

40 g coconut flour (Renée Voltaire)

40 g carob powder or soft light brown sugar

1 tsp bicarbonate of soda

125 ml vegetable oil

1. Preheat the oven to 200°C and prepare your muffins form.

2. Mash the bananas with a fork or a mixer. Still mixing add the oil, eggs and carob/brown sugar.

3. Blend all the dry ingredients together: both flours, cocoa powder and bicarbonate of soda.

4. Add this blend beating gently or mixing with a spoon, to the banana mixture.

5. Chop the chocolate bar and add it to the dough gently mixing with a wooden spoon.

6. Spoon the dough to the muffins form.

7. Bake in the oven for 15-20 min. After this time switch it off, open the oven and let the muffins cool slightly for 10-15 min before you take them out. It will protect muffins against subsiding (falling) and loosing their beautiful form.

Prepare the muffins formMix bananas with eggs, oil and carob powder or brown sugarChop the organic and raw chocolate Add chocolate to the dough and gently mix with a wooden spoonSpoon the dough into the formsBake for 15-20 min in the preheated ovenSwitch off the oven. Be Green from Germany. This organic and vegan brand is available now in Sweden!

In May this year Naturalbox visited the biggest in Europe organic fair - Biofach (Nuremberg, Germany). Our team Naturalbox felt like a fish in a sea and, as you guess, has discovered several new exciting brands that we would like to offer our Subscribers. Here's one one them. Be Green comes from Germany and uses only organic and plant based ingredients. Take a look at it:

3 blend protein + BCAA. Raw, vegan, organic, gluten free, sugar free.

The protein is made of organic rice and it's 100% vegan, gluten free, lactose free, aspartam/sugar free. Definitely it's worth to give a try! It has three flavours: natural, vanilla and chocolate.

Be Green rice protein in a travel size.

Be Green gluten free energy bars contain 19% of vegan protein from organic farming. We like especially the one with pineapple and coconut flavour with cashews and chia seeds. One 50 g bar contains 204 kcal.

The result of our trip to Biofach and meeting the great crew from Be Green is launching now Be Green in Sweden in our organic boxes - Naturalbox and Veganbox. So, which products are you most excited to try? Let us know your thoughts!

Make the first impression on your summer trip: Less is More

...for your amazing hair...

They are here!

Less is More just came yesterday to our office and warehouse and I already managed to test one of them. But more about it in a separate blog post. Oh, I can still feel the relaxing scent of the rose geranium and Atlas cedar...  The products will be available soon on and in July all our Subscribers will have the possibility to try one of their organic hair shampoos. We care for our common health and using the natural shampoo, sometimes even every morning, is a very crutial element in our daily health rituals. I feel so happy that Less is More has joined the July Naturalbox issue: "Happy Birthday" because most of us are getting ready for the Summer trip.

The Story

The brand was founded by a hair stylist Hannes Trummer and the chemist Doris Brandhuber. They set up their first research facility in Hannes'es Less is More salon itself. With direct contact to the consumer, their palette of care- and styling products continued to mature, combining functionality with simplicity, beauty with health and ethical concerns with aesthetic intentions. The innovative formulas exclusively contain natural ingredients, chosen for their effectivity, purity and optimal tolerance by both skin and the environment: obtained from renewable sources, and from certified organic growers wherever possible, they are quickly and completely biodegradable. Less is More uses only the purest essential oils which provide product's effectiveness, create the wellness effect and a never ending pleasure.

Unique and highest quality

The materials Less is More uses must meet the highest standards - same like Naturalbox. That is why we like this brand and we always choose unique and top quality products.

The products contain virgin bioactive plant oils and butters, phyto extracts, purest essential oils, sumptuous flower waters, highland honey and bees wax, fair trade Mascobado cane sugar, spirit of wine, lecithin, glycerine. All the hair care ingredients 100% certified organic.

Formulatet WITHOUT

  • synthetic preservatives
  • fragrances
  • dyes and polymers; silicones and paraffins
  • petrochemicals
  • PEG and PPG
  • parabens

What we really like about the brand is that the guys donate a part of their profit to the charity organisation Caritas and they do not test their products on animals. All of that make sense and we are happy to welcome Less is More in Naturalbox & Ecoliving. One of the travel size shampoo 30 ml is coming to you in the July birthday box! Do not miss that and enjoy Less is More by ordering the festive Naturalbox here.
